40th Brings Brothers Together
By Jay Eck ‘06
From Alaska to Pennsylvania brothers traveled across the country attending an action packed weekend of events.
Arriving Friday, brothers and wives took the opportunity to view our expanding campus and attend the initiation and welcome reception held at the Campus Activities Center.
After closing down the reception brothers and guests traveled back to the fraternity house to be welcomed by the active chapter.
Saturday morning came very early for some as brothers teed-up for the golf tournament held at Breaburn Golf Course.
Meanwhile, back at the house, Little Sisters of Minerva toured the house and viewed scrapbooks enjoying lunch on the deck. The golfers met up with the Little Sisters after golfing.
Folks then rested for a period of time, and prepared for an Evening of Brotherhood hosted at the Hyatt Regency downtown.
The ballroom was dressed with purple and gold flowers and ribbons commemorating the occasion. Projectors showed images of the past 40 years.
The cocktail hour hosted in the main foyer of the ballroom bustled with folks laughing and remembering good times.
Remarks by Col. Jack Ellison and President Paul Washington provided a great deal of zeal for the evening.
Scholarships were announced as well.
Photos were taken outside and dinner was served.
Live music from “The Source” lit the dance floor on fire. People hit the dance floor and shaked whatever they had to music from all generations.
Sunday’s BBQ closed out the weekend with photos of the original. founders and was a fitting good-bye to all.
