40th Golf Tourny Around Corner
By Jay Eck ‘06
Undergraduate and Alumni alike are preparing for the upcoming golf tournament scheduled for September 1, 2007.
Teams are forming now for the tournament to be held at Breaburn Golf Course.
“I am really looking forward to the weekend. I get to play golf with brothers from around the country and be initiated in the same weekend...I cannot wait” says Nick Hawthorne.
Pledge Hawthorne, a member of the Summer 2007 pledge class, will be initiated at Friday’s 40th initiation (providing he can ever find his way out of the sand over at Braeburn).
Just to recap how the golf tournament will work: Alumni, actives and fathers of actives have signed up and are still signing up to play in the a golf tournament scheduled for September 1, 2007-part of the 40th Anniversary weekend.
Early September will still be quite warm. In order to increase speed of play, your $40 entry will secure you a cart as well.
Due to slow response from the earlier notices sent out in regards to the tournament, we have decided to take money/players till August 24, 2007.
Currently the 40th committee has 17 hole sponsors as well. Alumni-or their business can sponsor a hole for $100. If you would like to sponsor the last hole please contact Boyce Soward a.s.a.p.
Alumni can also purchase mulligans the day of the golf tournament. You can purchase 4 mulligans for $5 the day of the event.
Prizes and various other gifts will be given out to the top teams.
If you haven’t received your invite for the 40th, you can still RSVP for the golf tournament by going to www.sae40th.com or contacting Boyce Soward at 316-518-1643.
